Auras and Aura Imaging
Auras have a rich spiritual and scientific history. In ancient times, they were seen as an extension of one’s soul and were thought to be tied to an individual’s energy and emotional state. As time has gone on, scientists have made significant strides in studying this phenomenon. In the 60s, scientist Semyon Kirlian found that energy surrounding objects could be photographed. Then in the 80s, a man named Guy Coggins created the “AuraCam” which he claimed measured the sitters electromagnetic field using biofeedback receptors and high voltage field imaging. The collected energy data is then delivered to a computer system where a software converts the energy readings into electromagnetic energy (i.e., light and sound or wavelength and frequency) . The wavelengths and frequencies correspond to colors on the electromagnetic spectrum resulting in the colors that surround a person in their aura image. Different colors then represent different emotional states or energies and these color - emotion relationships are are decided upon using spiritual tradition such as the meanings of chakra colors. etc.
As of late, Aura photography has become increasingly popular, for it allows individuals to visualize their own auras and gain insights into their emotional and energetic states. But it is important to note that the conception that each person has one singular aura, couldn’t be more false. As energetic beings, our vibrations and thus, our energies, are constantly changing due to circumstances and environment. Our auras are as ever changing as our moods and situations so the concept of aura photography is fitting because just like a regular photograph, the captured moment, or aura, is absolutely unique and might not ever reoccur in the exact same way again.
